Joy School 2008: Ark of the Covenant

Joy School is always one of the most favorite times during the year...for the adults and young people, alike! This year we enjoyed learning about the Ark of the Covenant and about our salvation.

The kids enjoyed lessons from Brother Adam Holland, who is our youth leader, and from Brother Brett Holland, our church "sound guy," as we like to call him. Both did a wonderful job in teaching and instructing the youth about the Ark.

Pastor Holler led the young men in constructing a model of the Ark, teaching them how to work with their hands, what elements went into making the ark, and instructing them in working together in unity for the Lord. They did a marvelous job and everyone was excited to see the finished product.

The kids also enjoyed special crafts and lots of yummy goodies brought in by all the ladies.

Saturday we wrapped up Joy School with a cookout on church grounds, followed by some outdoor activites and a volleyball game. Even four-month-old Seth Roberts was in on the volleyball action!

We rejoiced that God blessed our efforts with the youth and we were pleased to be able to meet several new children and young adults from our church neighborhood. One such young lady we got to meet was 18 year-old Tisha. Tisha has been attending services with us ever since and we rejoiced to see her taking a hold of God by faith! She was baptized Sunday, July 26th in the name of Jesus Christ!

We thank the Lord for his special blessings to us all...and we are looking forward to many more blessings to come.
